Andre Lustosa
I'm a Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, serving as Team Lead for the Accelerator Enablement Team and Squad Lead for the TPU Support Squad within AIPCC (AI Platform Core Components). As a technical leader, I focus on multiplying team impact through architecture, mentorship, and driving strategic technical initiatives across the AI platform infrastructure.
Current Work
Our team enables LLM serving through vLLM and other AI products across RHEL AI, RHAAIS, and OpenShift AI. We support multiple accelerator architectures including:
- NVIDIA CUDA
- AMD ROCm
- Google TPU
- Intel Gaudi
- IBM Spyre
Background
I completed my PhD at NC State University (2019-2025), where I focused on software engineering research. Prior to being a Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, I served as Principal Software Quality Engineer on the same team and worked as CTO/Technical Lead at Oceansoft.
Research
My PhD research focused on Applied AI for Software Engineering, specifically:
- Problem complexity measuring
- Search-based software engineering
- Human-in-the-loop AI
- Simplified hyperparameter optimization
